How to fix blurry app icons
Blurry app icons usually come from a small source image or from soft resizing. The generator avoids both.

App icon generator FAQ
What size should an app icon be?
Upload an image of 1024 × 1024 px or larger, or an SVG. The App Store uses 1024 px and Google Play uses 512 px, and the generator makes every other size for you. See the full app icon size chart.
Do I still need an app icon generator if Xcode makes the sizes?
Yes, for most projects. Xcode 14 and later need only one 1024 px image for iOS and watchOS. But macOS still needs 10 sizes, Android needs five densities plus the Play Store icon, and web apps need manifest icons. The ZIP includes all of them, plus the AppIcon.icon file.
How do I make a Liquid Glass app icon for iOS 26?
Upload your current icon and download the ZIP. Drag AppIcon.icon into your Xcode 26 project and set it as the app icon. The system adds the Liquid Glass edges and the clear and tinted looks. To add glass effects to the artwork itself, open the file in Icon Composer.
Does it make Android adaptive and themed icons?
Yes. You get adaptive icon layers at five densities, the mipmap-anydpi-v26 XML, round and legacy icons, and the 512 px Play Store icon. When your image is a logo with a transparent background, you also get a themed (monochrome) layer. For full-bleed artwork, Android 16 QPR2 and later create the themed version themselves.
What is the safe zone for adaptive icons?
It's the center 66 dp of the 108 dp icon layer. Launchers can crop anything outside it into a circle, squircle or other shape. The generator keeps logos inside the safe zone and shows it in the preview.
Can it make maskable icons for a PWA?
Yes. The ZIP has separate "any" and "maskable" icons, a 180 px Apple touch icon and a manifest.webmanifest that lists them all. Maskable icons keep your artwork inside the center 80%, so no shape crops it.
Why do my app icons look blurry?
The usual causes are a source image that's too small, or resizing that softens edges. This tool resizes each size once with a sharp filter, draws SVGs at every exact size, and suggests AI upscaling when your image is under 1024 px.
Can I use a logo with a transparent background?
Yes. Keep the transparency, or remove a solid background with the built-in AI tool. Icons for iOS, watchOS, Google Play and maskable web icons get your background color, because transparency isn't allowed or looks wrong there.
Should I round the corners of my app icon?
No for iOS, watchOS and Google Play. They add their own rounded mask, so upload a square. The shape setting only changes web icons and older Android icons, and macOS icons get the standard Mac shape automatically.
Which image formats can I upload?
PNG, JPG, WebP and SVG, up to 10 MB. Square images work best. Images that aren't square are centered with your chosen padding.
How do I add the icons to Xcode and Android Studio?
Follow the README in the ZIP. For Xcode, drag AppIcon.appiconset into Assets.xcassets. For Android Studio, copy the res folder into app/src/main/res. For a website, upload the web folder and add two tags to your page's head.
